My art is about growth. It is about growth in nature, in humankind, and in myself, as a woman, as a humanist, as an educator, and as an artist.
I draw upon themes of regeneration in the natural world. My work emphasizes a way of discovering the world, of experiencing ongoing change, of placement and displacement. It provides a means for comprehending art as dialogue between originator and environment, and between conception and perception. I work in a variety of media, which allows me to explore my interests in light, color, interiors, masses and volumes, as well as exteriors, facades, and planes.
Art is continual and eternal. It is a process, a vision, and a statement. It is the language in which I am most fluent. I find significance in my past works for they portray what has been, and what is, relevant in my consciousness. But it is my next, yet-to-be-created piece that is the expression by which I am most inspired and intrigued.
